Pep Guardiola makes just one change from City’s last Premier League match, a 2-1 victory over Watford all the way back at the start of the month. Ilkay Gundogan comes into the team, replacing David Silva. Gabriel Jesus remains injured, meaning Sergio Aguero leads the line again, and he will be flanked by Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling.
Jugen Klopp is without new recruit Virgil van Dijk, who has to hold off on making his Premier League debut for Liverpool as a result of a hamstring problem. Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip start in the centre of defence as a result, flanked by Joe Gomez and Andrew Robertson. Mo Salah returns after missing the last two matches with an injury, joining Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane in attack.
