Mohammed Usman Adamu better known as Magnito is a Nigerian rapper born on the 15th of September. He is from Benue state, Idoma by tribe but he was born and raised in Abuja. His stage name was inspired by the movie x-men. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Jos where he started rapping as a hobby. Upon graduation, he moved to Lagos to pursue his musical career.
Magnito has worked with the late Goldie, Durella, Duncan Mighty, Jaywon, Rayce, Phyno, Patoranking and others. Magnito first video “WAKA” was shot in Johannesburg South Africa, and it enjoyed massive airplay on African and european charts. His second video “MEDICINE GIRL” is a smash hit that has enjoyed impressive rave reviews.
In 2016, Magnito became a household name in Nigeria after his song ”If I get money ehn” was released. It was followed up by a remix featuring Patoranking and titled “As I get money ehn” Magnito is known for his unique story-telling comical lyrics. He Recently dropped a hit in a massive collaboration with Duncan Might titled “Genevieve”
Magnito to me seems to be the most underated artiste in the Nigerian music industry, known for his unique ways of using lyrics in a comfortable Nigerian language. But in recent years he hasn’t been shortlisted for recognition, which has made his style of music look irrelevant in the industry.
Magnito so far needs to be celebrity as a household name in the music industry which you will agree with me had impressed so far.
